Turn a wide video into a vertical clip
One click makes a video 9:16, 1:1, or 4:5 for short-video apps: crop it to fill, or keep the whole picture on a blurred background or between black bars.
01Open the Format tab
Open the video in the Editor and go to Format. The FORMAT card has As the source, 9:16 for vertical video, 1:1 square, 4:5 for feeds, 16:9 wide, and Crop by hand.
02Decide what happens to the rest
When the picture has another shape, Crop to fill cuts the sides away so the picture fills the frame, and you drag the frame on the preview to choose what stays. Blurred background keeps the whole picture on a blurred copy of itself, and Black bars keeps it whole between bars.
03Know the size
The card says what comes out, for example 1080 × 1920 px for 9:16 on a blurred background; the shorter side is at most 1080 pixels. SIZE in the same tab sets it smaller if you need.
04Mind the length
With 9:16, the Editor warns when the export is longer than 3 minutes, the most that the usual short-video apps take. Trim it below the preview, cut by text, or use Split into parts in the Export tab.
05Add captions and a logo
Big captions and a watermark from the Captions tab are drawn at the vertical size, so they sit right in the new frame.
06Export
WHAT THE EXPORT WILL DO in the Export tab shows the new shape and size. Export to Queue writes a new file and the wide original stays as it was.
