Save a video from a web page

Play the video in ClipHearth's browser, let the detector find it, pick the quality, and keep the file. Then convert or trim it in the same app.

1. 01Open the page and start the video

   Go to Browser, type the address, and press play. The detector box next to the tabs says Play a video until something plays, because ClipHearth finds media by following what the page's own player loads. It is made for videos you may keep: your own uploads, the recording of your webinar, a clip published under a licence that allows it. Videos protected with DRM are not supported.

2. 02Wait for Video found

   While the player starts, the box shows Searching…, then Video found and the Download button. Give it a few seconds: players often begin with a low quality and switch up once the connection allows, and every variant they load is picked up and compared with the others.

3. 03Pick the quality

   Download opens Choose Video Quality. The variants found so far are listed straight away while ClipHearth scans the page for the rest, so the list can grow while the window is open. One of them is marked Recommended. Download Video saves the one you select; Download Audio keeps only its sound.

4. 04Only the part you need, with subtitles

   Tick Only a section and set where it starts and ends to save just that stretch, cut exactly at those times. When the video comes with subtitles, Download subtitles adds them to the file, in your language and in English.

5. 05Follow it in Jobs

   The download shows up in Jobs with its speed and size, and a short drop in your connection does not stop it. When it is done, it moves to Downloaded with its format, length, resolution, and the place where the file is.

6. 06Convert it or edit it from Downloaded

   Every entry in Downloaded has Play, Edit, and Convert. Convert opens the Convertor with the file already chosen, for another format or a smaller size; Edit opens it in the Editor to trim, join, or adjust the colour. The downloaded file stays as it is.
