Send a large file to a friend without a cloud upload
Share a shelf with a friend and send a large video or a pile of files straight to their computer, encrypted end to end. They join for free.
01Your friend needs ClipHearth, not a licence
They install ClipHearth on Windows, macOS, or Linux and join your shelf in the trial: joining is free and nothing on a shelf counts as a trial task. Creating the shelf needs your licence.
02Make a shelf just for this
In Shelf › New or join, create a shelf with its own SHELF ID and a password nobody could guess, and set KEEP THE SHELF to 1 day or 7 days so it goes away by itself. Invite by e-mail… writes an e-mail in your mail program with the ID and how to join; tell the password another way, for example in a message.
03Send the file
Drop the file onto the shelf and press Send. On your friend's computer a large file waits for Get, unless they raise GET FILES BY ITSELF UP TO, up to Any size. Both computers need to be on until it has arrived; ClipHearth keeps running in the tray when its window is closed.
04Nothing in between can read it
The file goes straight to your friend's computer, or through Cloudflare's relay when the two cannot reach each other, encrypted with a key that only the computers on the shelf know. The relay only passes the encrypted data on, and the ClipHearth server never touches the file at all, so there is no upload to wait for and no link that could leak.
05Share only what you may
Send your own files, and media you are authorized to pass on to that person. When you are done, Delete the shelf… removes it for both computers after you type the password; each computer keeps what it received.
