Make a photo slideshow video with music
Make a slideshow video from your photos: pictures that zoom and pan slowly, fade into each other, take a look, and play over music.
01Start a photo slideshow
Go to Studio and click A photo slideshow under START FROM, then choose your pictures, several at once. They go onto the Video row one after another, the Studio puts a crossfade between all of them, and the first picture's page opens. Choose files, or dropping pictures onto the empty Studio, works too. Videos can go between the pictures as well. A photo taken upright on a phone shows upright, and HEIC photos from an iPhone open whole. Use your own photos, or ones you are authorized to use.
02Order and length
Each picture is a part of the Video row and shows for 3 seconds to begin with. Drag a picture to put it elsewhere, and drag its edge to show it longer or shorter, from half a second to 10 minutes. Clicking a picture opens its card, where SHOWN FOR has − and + for half a second less or more.
03The shape of the slideshow
The video takes the shape of the first picture, at most 1920 pixels on its long side. FRAME at the foot of the card sets 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, or 4:5 for the whole video instead, and As the first clip goes back. FILL decides what fills the frame where a picture has another shape: Blurred background, which every picture starts with, Crop to fill, or Black bars.
04Let the pictures move
MOTION is a slow move over the picture while it shows: None, Zoom in, Zoom out, Pan right, Pan left, Pan up, Pan down, Zoom in left, and Zoom in right. Pictures added together each move a little differently, in turn (Zoom in, Pan right, Zoom out, Pan left, Zoom in right, Pan up), so the slideshow never looks stuck. Use on all pictures gives every picture the motion of the one you picked, and None keeps a picture still.
05Give it a look
LOOK changes a picture's colours: None, Black and white, Sepia, Warm, Cool, Vivid, Faded, Vignette, or Cinematic. Use on all clips gives the whole slideshow the same look.
06Choose how each picture turns into the next
INTO THE NEXT starts as Crossfade. A click on the small badge where two pictures meet on the Video row opens the card of the picture before it. Pick Through black, Through white, Dissolve, Slide, Push, Wipe, Circle open, Clock, Zoom, Spin in, Flip, or another of the changes; the ones that go a way have DIRECTION (← → ↑ ↓). LENGTH is 0.5 s, 1.0 s, or 2.0 s, and Use between all clips puts the same change between every two pictures. A crossfade lays the next picture over the end of the one before, so each one makes the video that much shorter; Through black and Through white keep the length.
07Add music
Put the play position at the start (Home), then use Add › Music and choose the song; it gets a track of its own from there. Add it once the pictures are in order, because it lies on the picture where it starts and moves with it. Pick its track on the timeline for the Sound page: VOLUME starts at 35 %, set for music under a video's own sound, so raise it for pictures alone. FADE IN and FADE OUT soften the ends, Repeat until the end loops a short song, and Keep the last frame until it ends holds the last picture while a longer one finishes. Use music you are authorized to use.
08Export the slideshow
Export… in the header opens the Export window with FORMAT, QUALITY, and WHAT THE EXPORT WILL DO. Export to Queue sends the slideshow to the Queue, and the video lands in your output folder and in Completed. Your photos stay as they are.
