Blur private details in a screenshot before you share it
Hide an e-mail address, a name, or a password in a screenshot with Blur, Pixelate, or a filled box, so the picture you share shows only what it should.
01Open the capture in the editor
Edit on the small picture in the corner, or a double-click in the Screenshots list, opens the editor. To have it open after every capture, tick Open it in the editor under AFTER A CAPTURE.
02Blur or pixelate
Choose Blur (B) or Pixelate (X) and drag a box over what should not be read. The blur is strong enough that text under it cannot be read, and every box can be moved or deleted later, also after you save.
03Cover what must stay secret
For a password, a card number, or a key, a solid box is the safest: Rectangle (R) with Fill rectangles and ellipses covers it completely, in any colour.
04Leave out the rest of the screen
Crop (C) cuts the picture down to what matters, so tabs, notifications, and other windows stay out. Spotlight (S) darkens everything but the part you want people to look at.
05Share the edited picture
Copy, Save, and Pin in the editor use the picture with the marks on it, and the file in the screenshots folder becomes the edited one. If the capture went to the clipboard right after you took it, that copy is the untouched one, so copy again after editing. The original stays in ClipHearth's data on your computer, so the marks stay editable; deleting the capture in the list removes both.
